THE race to become Singapore's next president is fast heating up, with a second prospective candidate having submitted his documents to contest the upcoming reserved election.

Farid Khan Kaim Khan, the chairman of marine-services provider Bourbon Offshore Asia Pacific, was at the Elections Department (ELD) on Prinsep Street on Thursday to hand in his application forms for the Certificate of Eligibility and the Community Certificate.
