Gan Kim Yong attends Asean-Japan health ministers' meeting
HEALTH Minister Gan Kim Yong will be attending the Asean-Japan Health Ministers' Meeting on universal health coverage and population ageing.
The two-day conference is held in Tokyo, Japan on Friday and Saturday.
There, Mr Gan will share Singapore's approach towards achieving sustainable universal health coverage and the island republic's experience in promoting integrated care in the communities.
He will also be meeting his international counterparts and other leaders during the visit.
During the trip, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) in health care with Japan's Ministry for Health, Labour and Welfare.
The MOC will pave the way towards greater collaboration between the two countries and facilitate mutual sharing of experiences through multiple platforms in areas such as healthy ageing, control and prevention of infectious disease, non-communicable diseases, health research and healthcare robotics, and disaster preparedness and response.
