Gan Kim Yong to lead MTI, Tan See Leng to helm MOM

SINGAPORE'S two major economic ministries will see changes at the top, with current Health Minister Gan Kim Yong taking over as Minister for Trade and Industry from Chan Chun Sing, and Second Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng moving up to head that same ministry.
The new Cabinet line-up takes effect from May 15. Mr Chan will helm the Education Ministry, while current Manpower Minister Josephine Teo is moving to the Ministry of Communications and Information.
"Right now, MTI, where (Mr Gan) is going, is a key ministry," said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Friday. Mr Gan will oversee the economic recovery from Covid-19 and pursue new opportunities to grow the economy, he added.
