GIC stepping up investments in real estate
The asset class offers diversification and helps with inflation hedging

GIC, one of the largest real estate investors globally, is stepping up its activity in the asset class as it offers diversification and inflation hedging benefits.
Real estate also fits in with GIC's long-term investment strategy given its illiquidity premium.
While GIC is an established real estate investor having started over 30 years ago, it has become even more active in the last few years, said Lim Chow Kiat, group chief investment officer.
