Hangzhou G-20 summit faces formidable task in reviving growth, warns IMF

CHINA is eager to make a resounding success of the Hangzhou summit of G-20 political leaders on Sept 4- 5. But the odds are stacked heavily against the group of advanced and emerging nations reversing global economic stagnation without bold policy reforms.

This was the sobering assessment issued on Thursday by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in a report to G-20 leaders on the two-day event, which is to be staged in the capital of China's Zhejiang province from next Sunday
