HDB calls for solar leasing tender
IN another step to raise the adoption of solar power in Singapore, the Housing Development Board (HDB) has called for a solar leasing tender for the installation of solar panels across nine government organisations.
Apart from the HDB, the other government organisations participating in the bulk tender are: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Public Utilities Board (PUB), Ministry of Education (MOE), National Environment Agency (NEA), Ngee Ann Polytechnic, State Courts, Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), and Ministry of Finance (MOF).
This is part of the SolarNova programme led by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
"At a capacity of 40 megawatt peak (MWp), this solar tender will see solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed at 636 HDB blocks and 31 government sites, located island-wide," said the HDB and the EDB in a joint press release on Sunday.
The multi-agency solar leasing tender will close on Dec 30, 2016, and is estimated to be awarded in Q1 next year.
The installation is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
