THE payments market has never been so competitive, but with the advent of technology, PayPal is hoping heightened protection for merchants in South-east Asia will set it apart as supporting small-time merchants, said a top executive from this region.
This comes as the job market is increasingly choke-full of freelancers in South-east Asia. Small-time entrepreneurs in the region are also striking out on their own through the Internet, reaching across borders, but would want better protection against fraud.
