Indonesia central bank puts Q4 current account deficit at 2.8% of GDP, instead of 2.3%

[JAKARTA] Indonesia central bank has raised its estimate for the fourth quarter current account deficit to 2.8 per cent of gross domestic product from an earlier figure of 2.3 per cent.

Mirza Adityaswara, Bank Indonesia's senior deputy governor, told a press conference on Wednesday the deficit would be US$6.1 billion, which he said was equivalent to 2.8 per cent of GDP.

In the final quarter of 2013, Indonesia had a current account gap of $4.3 billion, or 1.98 per cent of GDP.

In July-September this year, the deficit was 3.07 per cent of GDP.
