Japan April exports rise 7.5% y-o-y: MOF
[TOKYO] Japan's exports rose 7.5 per cent in April from a year earlier, marking the fifth straight month of gains, Ministry of Finance data showed on Monday.
That compared with a 7.8 per cent rise expected by economists in a Reuters poll and followed a 12 per cent rise in March.
Imports surged 15.1 per cent, versus the median estimate for a 14.8 per cent increase.
The trade balance came to a surplus of 481.7 billion yen (S$6 billion), versus the median estimate for a 521 billion yen surplus.
