Japan finance ministry to closely watch Brexit referendum impact on market
[TOKYO] Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso said on Tuesday that he would closely watch Britain's referendum next week on exiting the European Union given its potential impact on global markets.
Asked about renewed strength in the yen, Mr Aso said stability in the currency is extremely important. He declined to comment on currency levels. "We must keep close watch with a sense of urgency in order to prevent speculative moves from persisting," Mr Aso told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
