TWO controversial Japanese political figures have challenged US presidential candidate Donald Trump to a public or private debate on how to deal with Japan, China and North Korea.
Former Tokyo governor Shintaro Ishihara and former Japanese government minister Shizuka Kamei are seeking to dissuade the American real-estate baron from withdrawing US forces from Japan or demanding a greater financial contribution from Japan toward their upkeep; at the same time, they also want to urge the US to help stop what Mr Ishihara claims is China's inevitable "collapse from within".
