Japan's export growth falters in Sept, but trade deficit shrinks

Lower prices of imported oil and other forms of energy help to narrow its trade deficit

Japanese exports to China fell again in September, as a slowdown in the world's No. 2 economy weighs on the two countries' huge trading links. Overall, Japan's exports edged up 0.6 per cent by value from a year ago - much slower than economists' forecasts of a 3.4 per cent gain.
