Job openings rise in April to highest level since end-2000
Wholesale inventories up more than expected as sales jump, helped by stabilising oil prices

JOB openings in the United States increased to the highest level in more than 14 years, showing the labour market was solidifying gains even as the economy emerged from a first-quarter gloom.
The number of positions waiting to be filled increased by 267,000 to 5.38 million in April from a revised 5.11 million in the prior month, the Labor Department said on Tuesday.
