SINGAPORE Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak took time off from serious negotiations at the Asean Summit in Kuala Lumpur on Friday to launch a cultural showcase that celebrates the five decades of friendship between their countries.

"Bagai aur dengan tebing," was how Mr Lee described Singapore-Malaysia relations. "The bamboo by the river bank" is a Malay proverb about coexisting through mutual dependency.
