Malaysians go on shopping spree before GST kicks in

Ahead of the start of the 6 per cent GST, a handful of businesses have pledged to keep prices down. Hardware retailer Mr D.I.Y. has taken out billboards (above) to announce that its outlets will absorb the tax, adding: "We take a loss to keep you satisfied."

IN a last-ditch attempt to save a few bucks, Malaysians have gone on a buying spree ahead of the implementation of a 6 per cent Goods & Services Tax (GST) from Wednesday.
