MALAYSIA'S biggest political party faces a trust deficit, a minister warned, highlighting the impact of a months-long political scandal surrounding Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Members are losing their connection to the United Malays National Organisation (Umno), which leads the ruling coalition, Hishammuddin Hussein - one of the party's vice-presidents - told reporters on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur. Mr Hishammuddin, who called for unity, is also defence minister.
