What is Mers-CoV?
The Middle East respiratory coronavirus (Mers-CoV) is a respiratory illness which has spread globally recently, particularly in the Middle East and South Korea. The disease, a cousin virus of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Sars-CoV), can cause mild respiratory infections or severe illness for the majority of cases, and 38 per cent of known cases have resulted in death.
