MNC execs on the ground dispute China's 7% growth

Slowdown being felt more acutely in sectors like banking, consumer goods production and commercial property

Official retail sales data through August is still up more than 10 per cent from a year earlier, though signs are emerging that consumer spending is slowing, spooked perhaps by the summer's sharp declines in the stock market.
