MND stresses urgency in ironing out issue of independent accountants in AHPETC

THE Ministry of National Development (MND) on Thursday explained why it wanted to expedite its appeal against a High Court decision not to appoint independent accountants at the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) run by the Workers' Party (WP).
In response to media queries, it said it had applied to expedite the hearings because of an "urgency for the matter to be resolved quickly".
