MOF seeks views and suggestions for Budget 2022
THE Ministry of Finance (MOF) has invited all Singaporean individuals, households and businesses to share their views and suggestions for the upcoming Budget 2022, which is slated to be unveiled in February.
In a joint press statement on Tuesday (Dec 7), MOF - together with Reach and the People's Association (PA) - listed the following topics for discussion: thriving in a post-Covid world, strengthening social compact, and preparing Singapore for a greener and more sustainable future.
Based on these themes, questions for the public to consider include:
1. What actions can we take as individuals and as a community, together with the government, to build a fairer and more inclusive home?
2. What are some underserved needs and concerns of the lower-income and vulnerable groups?
3. How can businesses and households contribute to a greener, more sustainable Singapore? What changes do individuals have to make? How can government facilitate these efforts?

Suggestions for the coming Budget may be submitted over a 6-week period from Dec 6, 2021 up until Jan 17, 2022 through various channels such as the Singapore Budget website (www.singaporebudget.gov.sg) and PA's Ask Kopi Kakis webpage at www.go.gov.sg/shareyourviews2022.
The public may also submit their views to Reach via its Budget website (www.reach.gov.sg/budget2022), as well as its social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram. Reach will further conduct an e-Listening Point or online survey over the feedback and engagement period, with more details to be found on the government feedback unit's Budget website.
PA and its grassroots organisations also intend to reach out to Singaporeans to obtain their views and suggestions via the virtual Ask Kopi Kakis engagement platforms in a "convenient and safe manner".
