New education ministers pledge to build more and better learning pathways

BOTH new ministers for the Ministry of Education (MOE) said that they are determined to continue building more and better pathways for Singaporeans to meet their aspirations.
This work will go on while the education system expands "in both scale and complexity", Acting Education Ministers Ng Chee Meng and Ong Ye Kung said in a joint message to the education fraternity on Monday morning.
Both men took on their new posts at the start of this month.
Mr Ng, 47, the former defence chief, will oversee pre-schools, primary and secondary schools, and junior colleges.
