New members appointed to Iras board
FOUR new members have been appointed to the board of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras) with effect from Sept 1, 2016.
They are: Adam Abdur Rahman, managing director and head of corporate affairs at Citi Singapore and Asean; Ng Wai Choong, chief executive of the Energy Market Authority; Sum Yee Loong, Professor of Accounting (Practice) at Singapore Management University; and Tan Boon Gin, chief regulatory officer of the Singapore Exchange.
Four board members are also reappointed from Sept 1. They are: Bob Tan, chairman of Jurong Engineering Ltd; Niam Chiang Meng, chairman of the Media Development Authority; Chng Sok Hui, chief financial officer of DBS Group; and Dr Philip Pillai, a former Supreme Court judge.
Other than the eight above, the Iras board comprises chairman Tan Ching Yee, Permanent Secretary (Finance) at the Ministry of Finance, and Iras CEO and Commissioner of Inland Revenue Tan Tee How.
Dr Lee Kwok Cheong, Pek Hak Bin and Pok Soy Yoong will retire from the board after serving six years each.
