[WELLINGTON] New Zealand business sentiment improved in September as forward-looking activity indicators remained robust, including in Auckland, which is still under a coronavirus lockdown, an ANZ Bank survey showed on Thursday.

The survey's headline measure showed a net 7.2 per cent of respondents expected the economy to deteriorate over the year ahead. It compared with a 14.2 per cent pessimism level in the previous poll in August.

A net 18.2 per cent of respondents expected their own businesses to grow in the next 12 months, versus 19.2 per cent last month.
