As Mr Xi takes on his second term, he has strongly reversed party protocol which stipulates that all leaders must step down after two five-year terms.

THE new line-up of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, revealed on Wednesday, points to no real successor to the party leader, President Xi Jinping, who was appointed for a second term.
