Labour movement chief Ng Chee Meng says unionised workers continued to enjoy good wage growth in 2018

THE National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) will be the "mountain behind workers" in championing their wages, welfare and work prospects, secretary-general Ng Chee Meng said on Wednesday.
Making his first May Day Rally speech since becoming the labour movement chief in May 2018, Mr Ng shared that NTUC handled 4,800 worker-employer negotiation cases in 2018, slightly more than in 2017. These ranged from salary claims to securing better benefits in retrenchments and pursuing cases in court.
"We still need to be alongside (workers) each day, and if we need to, we will stand up and we will represent you to the best of our abilities and be that NTUC mountain for each and every worker," Mr Ng said…
