PAP unveils experienced team to contest Jalan Besar GRC
While there are no fresh faces at Jalan Besar Group Representation Constituency (GRC), the People's Action Party (PAP) team contesting there brings a combined 60 years of experience to serve residents, incumbent MPs said on Sunday morning.
The PAP team contesting at the four-member GRC will be Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Mr Heng Chee How, Dr Lily Neo and Ms Denise Phua.
Dr Yaacob, who is currently Communications and Information Minister, announced the PAP team for the coming general election at a grassroots event where he launched a new five-year masterplan for the town.
"Our work is not done, and for the next five years, we will continue to improve the living environment of Jalan Besar Town," Dr Yaacob said.
Jalan Besar is a "new" GRC for the coming election. It is however a constituency with a rich, long-running heritage that was dissolved in the 2011 General Election.
