Parliament approves changes to Elected Presidency

All six MPs from the opposition WP vote against the Bill. DPM Teo says Bill doesn't leave multiracialism to chance

PARLIAMENT on Wednesday passed the proposed changes to the Elected Presidency, with 77 Members of Parliament (MPs) giving their support to the Constitutional Amendment Bill.

All six MPs from the opposition Workers' Party (WP) voted against the Bill, which requires backing from at least two-thirds of the elected MPs for the changes to take effect.
