CONGRESSIONAL Republicans are making last-ditch efforts to win over the remaining holdouts on their healthcare bill, with moderates pitching a new amendment and the White House saying a vote could come later this week.
Representative Fred Upton of Michigan is crafting the amendment, supported by party leaders, to gain crucial centrist support to resuscitate the bill to repeal most of former president Barack Obama's healthcare law, according to the Associated Press.
