Restructuring approach needs timely review
S'pore Business Federation head honcho urges tweaking of productivity targets deadline
Singapore
IT is time to review our approach to economic restructuring, says Ho Meng Kit, chief executive officer of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), adding that he hopes the government will extend its productivity targets deadline to beyond 2020.
"My sense is they won't change the targets but I think maybe they will say that perhaps it can be done in the longer term . . . I think if we are not in a recession, we have time to do this over the longer term," said Mr Ho, speaking on the sidelines of the SBF's Seminar on Economic, Business, and Currency Outlook 2015 on Friday.
