SINGAPORE "must resolutely oppose" the spread of terrorism in order to safeguard its security.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Monday said in Parliament that it is with this in mind that the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will join 33 other nations, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Japan, in the United States-led multinational coalition effort to combat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militant group (ISIS).
Responding to queries from MP Alex Yam, Dr Ng said that SAF's contribution to "Operation Inherent Resolve" will be "within its means" and be "sustainable and useful".
