THE Singapore government has declared the area surrounding the Shangri-La hotel as a "special event area" from the period of June 10 to 14, for the upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The luxury hotel, which security experts and sources have tipped as the likely venue for the June 12 summit, sits within the area along with other high-end hotels like the St Regis and Four Seasons Hotel.
