Shanmugam lays out the facts of Benjamin Lim case

BENJAMIN Lim, the schoolboy who committed suicide after being accused of molesting an 11-year-old girl, would probably have been let off with a warning, Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam told Parliament on Tuesday.
"It is likely that on the evidence available to us, Benjamin would have received no more than a warning," he said. "He is unlikely to have been charged in court."
The 14-year-old was caught on CCTV camera to have followed and molested the girl in a lift on Jan 25. Benjamin was found dead at the foot of his HDB block in Yishun the next day, hours after giving a statement to the police.
