Singapore brand name a valuable resource in Latin America: PM Lee
It gives the Republic an edge during times of protectionism, uncertainty
Mexico City
SINGAPORE'S reputation for competence and integrity is a valuable resource that has currency even across the Pacific Ocean, and is a competitive advantage in a world of growing protectionism and uncertainty, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Wednesday (Thursday morning, Singapore time).
Such goodwill is worth developing, and is why Singapore is pursuing a free trade agreement (FTA) with the Pacific Alliance countries of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, Mr Lee told reporters at the conclusion of his four-day visit to Mexico.
