[SINGAPORE] The Reform Party (RP) will be contesting against the incumbent People Action's Party (PAP) in the West Coast GRC for a second time.
The team, comprising Kenneth Jeyaretnam, Andy Zhu, Darren Soh and Noraini Yunus will be facing off against Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran, and current Members of Parliament Foo Mee Har and Patrick Tay.
At Keming Primary School on Tuesday, Mr Jeyaretnam said that the team is not part of the elite who live in ivory towers. "You can trust us to press the government on national issues for a better deal," he told supporters.
Mr Iswaran said the PAP has walked closely with voters, and asked the residents to "Give us your vote and support" so that the party can continue its work.
The RP took 33.43 per cent of the vote in West Coast in 2011, against PAP's 66.6 per cent.
