GE2015: SDP to contest in Yuhua SMC

Entrepreneur Jaslyn Go (left) and medical professor Paul Tambyah are introduced as the Singapore Democratic Party's (SDP) new candidates for the coming General Election 2015.

[SINGAPORE] The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) will be fielding its candidate Jaslyn Go in Yuhua SMC, against the incumbent Member of Parliament Grace Fu from the People's Action Party (PAP).

Ms Go, a sales director of a construction company she started with her husband, told supporters at Keming Primary School on Nomination Day that she looks forward to a 'clean and worthy' battle against Ms Fu, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office.

Ms Go, a mother of two, had also been touted as a possible candidate for the party in Yuhua in 2011, but was replaced by Teo Soh Lung, a former Internal Security Act (ISA) detainee.

Ms Fu, who is also the Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Environment and Water Resources, said that there are many things the party wants to do to achieve a better future for residents in the constituency.
