SINGAPORE and Indonesia will mark 50 years of diplomatic ties with a busy calendar of events planned for this year.
Included is a visit by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to Singapore for a leaders' retreat with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Addressing a forum on Tuesday to kickstart the year-long celebrations, Singapore Trade Minister Lim Hng Kiang called on the two Asean neighbours to continue to build on the existing bilateral relations. "(This will) further expand economic cooperation and strengthen ties between businesses that will produce concrete and mutually beneficial outcomes," he told a 250-strong audience at the Mandarin Orchard hotel.
