Singapore NODX jumps 18.5% in March
NON-OIL domestic exports jumped 18.5 per cent year on year in March after a 9.7 per cent fall in February, thanks to growth in both electronic and non-electronic NODX.
Month on month, the NODX surged a seasonally adjusted 23.0 per cent, against a 9.4 per cent drop in the previous month.
Except for Indonesia and Japan, NODX shipments to the top 10 major markets rose last month. The EU, US and Malaysia were the three biggest contributors to NODX's expansion.
Electronic NODX grew 10.4 per cent from a year ago in March, in contrast to a 12.5 per cent decline in February. Non-electronic NODX increased 21.6 per cent following a 8.5 decrease.
Non-oil re-exports rose 1.7 per cent last month, extending the 0.9 per cent increase in February, due to a growth in non-electronic NORX which outweighed the fall in electronic NORX.
