Singapore remains attractive MICE destination despite WEF setback

THE World Economic Forum's (WEF) cancellation of its Special Annual Meeting that was to be held here in August is a "massive setback" to the recovery of the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry.
However, industry players and observers are optimistic that Singapore remains an attractive location for physical MICE events once they can resume.
The WEF cited "tragic circumstances unfolding across geographies, an uncertain travel outlook, differing speeds of vaccination roll out and the uncertainty around new variants", all combining to make the meeting impossible "despite the excellent support provided by the Government of Singapore".
