Singapore takes 9th spot with improved score in global IP index

SINGAPORE has improved its score in the latest United States Chamber of Commerce intellectual property (IP) index, coming in ninth out of 50 economies. It ranked eighth in the previous year's index before five more countries were added.

Singapore's score of 84 per cent (33.45 out of 40 indicators) put it ahead of countries such as Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand. But it remains second in the Asia-Pacific region, just behind Japan.

The US tops the list, with European countries - Britain, Sweden, France, Germany, Ireland …
