Singapore's non-oil domestic exports rise 21.5% year-on-year in February

BACKED by increases in both electronic and non-electronic shipments, Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) surged 21.5 per cent year-on-year in February - rising for a fourth straight month.

NODX jumped 8.6 per cent in January, 9.1 per cent in December and and 15.6 per cent in November.

Month on month, NODX rose a seasonally adjusted 1.4 per cent last month, easing from 5.0 per cent in January, according to trade promotion agency International Enterprise Singapore.

NODX to all 10 major markets increased, led by China, the EU and Taiwan. NODX to China surged 65.1 per cent, the EU 28.7 per cent and Taiwan 54.0 per cent.

Electronic NODX rose 17.2 per cent in February, against 6.1 per cent in the previous month. Non-electronic NODX jumped 23.3 per cent, following a 9.8 per cent increase in January.
