Tan Ching Yee re-appointed ACRA chairman; Ong Chong Tee appointed deputy
TAN Ching Yee has been re-appointed chairman of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) board.
Ong Chong Tee has been appointed deputy chairman of the board. Mr Ong is the deputy managing director in charge of financial supervision at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and will be leaving MAS on March 31. The appointment will take effect from April 1.
Mr Ong previously held board appointments with the Housing & Development Board and the Urban Redevelopment Authority. He was also a board member of the Central Provident Fund and the Singapore Land Authority, where he chaired their investment committees.
Separately, four new members will join the board, while eight current members have been re-appointed.
The four new members are: Glen Francis, chief technology officer of Singapore Press Holdings; Lam Yi Young, chief executive officer of the Singapore Business Federation; Catherine Lee, independent director of Far East Hospitality Trust; and Lock Yin Mei, partner at Allen & Overy LLP.
Besides Mrs Tan, the eight members who have been re-appointed to the board include Ameera Ashraf, partner and head of antitrust & competition practice at WongPartnership LLP; Lai Chin Yee, finance director of Qian Hu Corporation Limited; Paul Lee, managing director of RSM Chio Lim LLP; Mohammad Shariq Sayeed Barmaky, Singapore's audit and assurance leader and regional managing partner of audit and assurance in South-east Asia of Deloitte & Touche LLP; Muhammed Hidhir Bin Abdul Majid, principal district judge and principal director of strategic planning and research division at Family Justice Courts; Ong Khiaw Hong, chief executive of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority; Ow Fook Chuen, accountant-general of the Accountant-General's Department; and Kevin Wong, a non-executive company director.

Five members will be retiring from the board, including Adrian Chan, Ho Meng Kit, Lee Boon Ngiap, Bruce Liang and Tham Sai Choy.
The new ACRA board comprises 14 members and will begin its new term on April 1.
