WALL Street stocks plunged more than 10 per cent early on Monday as panic over the economic hit from the coronavirus outbreak offset emergency moves by the Federal Reserve.
About 25 minutes into trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 20,669.42, down 10.9 per cent, or around 2,500 points, resuming trading after a 15-minute suspension triggered by steep losses.
