Youth ownership of Asean crucial in a digitised economy

Advisory council urges govts to be cognisant of views of the young, and global shift towards digital economy

AS Asean approaches 50, its youth must begin to take ownership of the regional bloc, particularly amid increasing digitisation of the economy, according to the Asean-Business Advisory Council Malaysia.

Five decades to its formation in August 1967, the debate over how much the regional bloc has achieved remains a key talking point. To this end, Asean-BAC Malaysia believes the bloc must get clearer and sharper on issues confronting the region.
