First and foremost
FOUNDED in 1994, DatVietVAC Group Holdings (Dat Viet VAC) has the distinction of being the first media and communications agency in Vietnam. It continues to be Vietnam's largest and only vertically integrated media entertainment technology group.
With the largest chunk of the national market share, DatVietVAC still continues to invest in new businesses to build a world-class digital Vietnamese-culture economy to complement its three key core business pillars. The first pillar is communications services, which connect brands to audiences with creative initiatives, brand architects, strategic media planning and buying, and advertising technology for next-level digital media targeting.
The second pillar is content provision. DatVietVAC possesses the largest independent content library, which creates, acquires, and distributes International and Vietnamese content via multiple platforms. It also manages the country's largest portfolios of influencers, creators, key opinion leaders (KOL) and celebrities. The third pillar is media ownership, which includes a network of TV channels, a social media platform with a video social network, and over-the-top (OTT) video streaming.
As with other companies which started operations before this decade, the biggest challenge faced by DatVietVAC currently is digital transformation. With the world going digital, DatVietVAC is embracing this change by developing a digital transformation programme, spearheaded by Dinh Ba Thanh, its chief executive officer, to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technology. One of its goals is to triple its digital revenues within five years, enabled in part by the launch of the social video network and the acquisition of advertising technology.
As one of the winners of the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES) category of Eminent Leaders in Asia, Dinh Ba Thanh, is both a bridge builder and a media revolutionary. As a leader who has embraced the concept of sustainability and social awareness, DatVietVAC's CEO is actively involved in corporate social responsibility, specifically with the Nam Phuong Foundation, which raises funds to build bridges for small and remote communities. These bridges provide local communities with easier and safer access to schools and hospitals and concurrently, help develop the local economy. Dinh Ba Thanh is one of the project mentors of Nam Phuong Foundation.
