2-year trial to improve bus service reliability

[SINGAPORE] The Land Transport Authority will conduct a two-year trial to improve the en route reliability of bus services to address concerns about long and irregular waiting times.

Under the Bus Service Reliability Framework (BSRF), bus operators will be incentivised to minimise instances of irregular and prolonged waiting times.

To measure the regularity of bus arrival intervals at bus stops, an indicator known as Excess Wait Time (EWT) is used, with lower EWT scores to denote better bus service reliability.
