Activities galore to celebrate 550 years of Kazakh statehood

AMID the continuing celebrations this year of the 550th anniversary of Kazakh statehood, yet more activities are being planned.

Among these was the celebration of Constitution Day, which this year, marked the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution by national referendum as well as the 20th anniversary of the People's Assembly, the state institution dedicated to the promotion and harmonisation of inter-ethnic relations in Kazakhstan.

The adoption of the Basic Law proclaimed Kazakhstan a secular, legal and unitary state and the unity of the people, public and spiritual concord, and political stability are seen as the fundamental principles of the constitutional system and the highest values of society.
