THE Oyster Perpetual has grown bigger and become even more colourful. Rolex has launched for the first time this year an Oyster Perpetual with a 39 mm case, the biggest so far for the model that's the world's first water-proof wristwatch when it was unveiled in 1926. There are also new versions with 26, 31 and 34mm cases.

At the same time, new dials in different colours were added to the watch - red grape, olive green, champagne and dark rhodium. While these extend the many sizes and colours that have been introduced to the Oyster Perpetual over the years, some things in the timepiece never change: the stainless steel Oyster case which is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres; the watch has no other function than a reliable and accurate time display; and a certified Swiss chronometer movement.

These hallmark features remain in the latest collection.
