A bigger role for traditional Chinese music
Sing Lun Holdings chairman Patrick Lee wants to promote Chinese culture and values through music.
GROWING up in a traditional Cantonese family, Patrick Lee acquired an appreciation of traditional Cantonese opera at an early stage.
"Listening to Cantonese opera always brings back the bliss and memories of growing up in Singapore. My business travels around the world have also helped me appreciate Western classical music," says Mr Lee, the chairman of Singapore-based apparel company Sing Lun Holdings.
He was able to take his love for traditional Chinese music a step further when he was appointed to the board of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) in 2008, and became its chairman in 2012 - a position he still holds to this day.
