Bombardier opens service centre in Seletar
[SINGAPORE] Canadian plane manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace has set up its first wholly-owned Asia-Pacific service centre here to raise its profile and be closer to its customers.
Located in Seletar Airport and staffed with 40 employees, the centre is equipped to service Bombardier business jets, namely the Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft. The facility undertakes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work, modifications and avionics installations.
Since it started operations three months ago, the centre has done more than 40 jobs, more than half of which were for unplanned maintenance, said Mark Masluch, Bombardier Aerospace's public relations manager. The Economic Development Board and JTC Corporation worked with Bombardier to get the necessary land and authorisation permits for the centre, and hooked the company up with the relevant networks.
