Malaysia's Hatten Group has emerged to become a serious player in the country's vibrant real estate landscape in just over five years. In particular, it has become a dominant force in the state of Malacca, where many of its developments stand.

Started in 2008, the group shot to prominence with its first project, the Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall (DPMM), which was built in the historic city centre of Malacca, now a Unesco World Heritage site.

With more than 2 million sq ft of retail space, the development is the biggest mall in the state and draws millions of foreign and local visitors every year.
